Mentoring programs.

LIFE on LIFE

LIFE on LIFE is how we do ministry at CFC but it is also one of the ways we invest in others. LIFE on LIFE is what we call time spent outside the doors of Center for Champions. Whether it is going to eat, play games, toss a football, or just sit and talk, mentors and mentees are encouraged to walk LIFE on LIFE together on a regular basis.

ROOTED

ROOTED is our weekly program for matches. At ROOTED we do high energy team competition, we spend time Digging Deeper into God’s word, we do one on one discussion, and we do a life skills challenge such as a STEM activity, cooking a recipe, learning to change a tire, or how to set up a budget. ROOTED is divided into ROOTED JV which is 5th through 8th grade students and ROOTED Varsity which is 9th through 12th grade students.

Family Outreach

Family Outreach is time spent with the parents or caregivers of enrolled youth. Center for Champions provides monthly family brunches where we participate in games, a Bible study, a life skill workshop, and prayer. Additionally, Center for Champions staff visit families multiple times each year in their homes to connect with them. Finally, Center for Champions provides multiple family events each year such as picnics, workshops, and family events like a mother/daughter tea.

Springboard

With our Springboard program, we will expand Center for Champions’ network of business owners and managers, across a multitude of industries to provide teens with jobs, internships, and essential life skills.

Leveraging the strength of our LIFE-on-LIFE relationships, Center for Champions will coordinate between mentor and business manager on a weekly basis, offering a community of support for our youth as they learn important skills such as goal setting, time management, budgeting, and presentation skills, among many others.

With Springboard, our teens form a vision for their future and are empowered to live it out.

ROOTED in the School

Center for Champions is dedicated to coming alongside Harrisburg’s public schools by cultivating LIFE on LIFE relationships in order to create the best possible learning environment for our teens. These relationships will then extend outside the walls of the school to our ROOTED program, student’s homes, and communities.
